Foreign Language

Foreign Language Class is designed as an introductory and exploratory route into world languages. Content to be covered, but not limited to: basic appropriate social conventions, cultural aspects of various countries, alphabet, classroom objects and/or expressions, calendar, personal information, numbers, time on hour, phone etiquette/expressions, colors, Holidays, and weather.

Students will be involved in Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing Activities as well as projects and tests.

Attention 5th Grade Spanish Speakers!

The online resource is up and running.  You will need a specific password from me. So see your Spanish teacher for your own password.  Once you have your log in information, click on the link
Capitán Espanol Online Spanish Resource Textbook and Activities and log in.  Now you are ready to take advantage of learning Spanish.  View the textbook, Complete Workbook activities on the computer (I will be able to see what you complete and work on), flashcards, view Videos, and play some games.

Currently....

Both the 5th and 6th graders are have been working hard to create Fun Speaking Skits in their target language of study.  The End of the first quarter is coming up next week (October 30).  The 6th graders did a really nice job on their Tongue Twisters Speaking Assessment.  A new set of Tongue Twisters will begin soon.

Current and Upcoming lessons

6th grade is currently practicing the French alphabet.  An upcoming test is close for the recognition of the French letters.  It is a Listening Comprehension test.  Check Powerschool for the specific day.  After the alphabet, we move on to "Greetings/salutations" lesson.  A speaking Skit (graded) will be the project/test.  Again, check powerschool for specific day. 

5th grad just finished up with the alphabet.  We are now on the "Greetings/salutations" lesson.  A speaking skit (graded speaking partner activity) is coming up in about two weeks.  Check powerschool for specific day.

Grade 6 just finished " Moi" project.  Introducing and talking about themselves with a combination of French and English. 
Grade 5 just finished a project "Tu nombre" where they had to search for Spanish words beginning with the letters in their Spanish name.

Upcoming: Grade 6 is currently finishing up classroom expressions - known as "la douzaine sale" they will be tested on these expressions.  Next lesson up is the French Alphabet.

Currently Grade 5  is studying the Spanish alphabet (el alfabeto) with an upcoming test next week. 
Next lesson up for Spanish is the Greeting/Farewell - Speaking Skit.
